The Wizard's Creatures

Some of Jinivar's unique wildlife is featured in a board game that I designed after participating in a Kolaj Insitute residency. The game is not (yet!) available in print, but you can read about the concept behind the game and see the creatures and charactors that populate it.

The Wizard's Creatures is a 2-4 player strategy game that showcases some of Jinivar's colorful species. Players are explorers searching the wilderness for animals to present to the wizard who is looking to expand his menagerie. This game was developed at a Kolaj Institute residency on games and collage during summer 2024.

Players explore the area (draft a tile), then search for possible animals (draw cubes from a bag), then house new animals in their pens, all while trying to collect clues about a new mystery creature roaming the area.

The animals are divided into four main categories: furry, feathery, scaly, and slimy. Spiky and shiny creatures also make an appearence.
