Brolia

Deni Alfing

Deni works on her family farm in Brolia. Though she's done every possible type of farm work, her favorite job is running the business end of things. Now that she's married and her husband and two children have taken on shares of the farm work (alongside her parents, siblings, and their families) Deni is able to devote herself more fully to keeping the books, buying and selling. In quiet times, she and her husband head to the stream to fish and be still, watching the clouds float by.

Mivka-Madila Temple Gate

The temple gate of Mivka-Madila is hard to find. Not only is it on Brolia, the furthest south of the Western Isles, but it is well hidden in the Brolia mountains. And if you make it to Brolia, there are still dense jungles, fast-flowing rivers, and tall mountains to climb. So few have seen it, that many consider its existence to be a myth and the stories of the heroics of Mivak-Madila to be fairy tales.

Graviskies

Size: up to 2' tall
Colors: whites and pinks
Uses: bulbs are harvested and eaten, similar to onions
Noted: Graviskies are used in a children's game in which a child will pull out a long flowering stem and give chase calling out, "Gravitsky, gravistky, can't catch me, but I'll catch you!" The flower is used to tag another child who then takes the flower, or, more commonly, grabs their own.

Dolinia

Minnie Sybilina

Minnie believes herself to be a direct descendent of Dolinia's folk heroine, Sybil. Not only does Minnie's last name hint at such an ancestry, Minnie is unusually tall, pale, and blonde, all traits ascribed to Sybil. Minnie is very proud of this possible connection and mentions it at every opportunity, which annoys her community. Minnie never notices her neighbors' irritation, in fact she thinks they're jealous. While not popular with the locals, Minnie has made herself a celebrity with visitors who marvel at her stories.

Tornika Towers

Tornika Towers was built by the artist/architect duo, Malaga and Victo. It is the last known of their works to remain standing. It is carefully preserved and protected by the people of Angla on the island of Dolinia. In fact, the Dolinians have adopted it as a center of their worship practices, gathering around it on their holy days, burning incense at its base and polishing it only under very precise circumstances with an appointed team.

Sybil's Sunflowers

Habitat: grow abundantly in open fields on Dolinia and small neighboring islands
Size: up to 8' tall; flowers can get up to 3' wide
Ecology: The shade created by a grove of these sunflowers is home to many creatures, and the seeds are important to their diets.
Noted: Sybil was a local folk heroine who was a blonde giantess, radiant as the sun. She protected Dolinia in ancient battles with a clan of sea witches.

Levia

Snell Fibb

Snell lives in a small, tight-knit community on Levia. Recently he had an opportunity to set sail to the Jinivar mainland but after much soul-searching he decided to stay on Levia. Life is hard here. Ships with goods from the mainland are few. But Snell loves it all the same. Plus, he's also recently met a woman named Violet from the far side of the island, and he's pretty sure he's in love. He hopes to impress Violet by building her a house where they can settle and prosper together.

Towers of Levia

The ruined towers at the center of Levia are impressive monuments to a distant past. Little is known about the people who lived there, let alone the history of the buildings themselves. The unique construction and unusual materials have sent many a historian, archeologist, and treasure hunter out across the sea to investigate, but so far, no answers have been found.
