Zanereah

Contributed by Naomi Peterson

Zanereah (or Zahn for short) was born into a tribe of people known as Xilans. The Xilans live in Xilo Valley and sometimes take trips to the Xilocent Mountains and rarely, but (but sometimes) to Sun City. Cut off from much of the rest of the world, Xilans and Zanh practice spirituality and nurturing those around them. Zanh feels a special connection to the magnificent beasts known as grasslips, more than the rest of her tribe who also worhsip these beasts. She knows that she has something different, something special. The day she abanadoned her daily tasks and spent a day among these huge birds felt more magical than any other day in all her life.

But Marius "forgot" to mention that their family tomb was filled with the ghosts of their ancestors... Margaery realized that day that she was not the bravest princess to ever exist and instead declared that her brother was probably the meanest prince to ever exist.

Meet Xenia, Mitrix's mother. Xenia is a weaver and a shaman. She weaves wisdom and prayers into the fabric so that people can wear the intentions close to their skin. Xenia, like Mitrix, will not permit depiction of her face to keep her spirirt in her heart. The spirit makes the cloth more effective, as does the silver found off the Gie Coast.

Milo

Contributed by Lela Cocoros - @lelaco

Meet Milo, more popularly known by his millions of fans as "Milo del Fuego." Milo is our galaxy's champion fire-surfer. Well-loved but a little too cocky for his own good, Milo is obsessed with the sport that has brought him fame and fortune. His #1 rival is Zippo (aka "The Flame"), whom he taunts regularly via intergalactic social media. Milo prepares for each competition by practicing his bespoke surfing position, the del Fuego Crouch, at least 100 times a day. After training you will find him at the Hellzapoppin Tiki Bar, downing a couple of Flaming Volcano cocktails all by himself.

The Prince

Snorkel Gecko

Contributed by Susan Wakal - @picturepanache

Dear Jinivar,

Geckos are known to live in every country except Antartica, so I'd be surprised if you didn't have geckos on Jinivar. Maybe watch for them. The Snorkel Gecko is rare and seems to be an adaptation learned from tourists here on the Big Island, Hawaii. Photographers are also known to befriend baby geckos and train them while they are malleable. Animal rights activists will soon be clamping down on the highly controversial exploitation of geckos in order to sell postcards into the profitable tourism indutry. I hope it never comes to that in unspoiled Jinivar.

Snorkel Gecko (rare)

Size: 1.5"-6", longer with snorkel and fins
Color: Bright green with red spots
Diet: Insects
Sounds: Chirp, squeak, click; blub, blub of blowing bubbles; woosh of snorkel clearing
Lifespan: Generally 5-10 years unless shortened by a shark encounter

Indoors, she is very organized, being able to fit her piano, cello, art studio and cooking space in her little book cabin. And in keeping yourself you are in truth loving life.

Pblurts

Phish People

Contributed by Ira Carter - @iracarterinchains

Residents along the coast of Walkia have long fed their families with their catch of local sealife. A full set of home-themed contributions from Melissa Fristrom

Relics of Harid

@melissafristrom

The Hills is home to an ancient settlement of farmers, milliners, and masons. While no one knows exactly why people left the Relics of Hadrid, the lore is that they were lured away by ancient faerie folk who wanted a similar village in their world. Though the veracity of this claim is yet to be proven, parents have been known to use this as a cautionary tale for kids to do their bidding.

Angular Water House

@melissafristrom

In the Plackadill Mountains of Walkia, there is a house built on the side of a mountain. Two engineers hypothesized they could make water flow in square droplets. While they have yet to make that happen, they have built a beautiful angular house over the waterfall they hope to someday make angular too.

Xilocent Palace

@melissafristrom

In the beautiful heights of the Xilocent Mountains palaces are built with sparkles and snow. The residents believe everyone deserves a palace so all the homes are fashioned with an eye to the beauty of snow. Some believe the sparkle comes from the tears of fairies while others credit snowflakes for the brilliance.

Bird Houses of Ixari Desert

@melissafristrom

The Southlands' Ixari Desert is home to elaborate bird houses. Not your regular home for fowl, these are daedal residences that many people would love to live in. However, there is a keeper of these flocks that stops people from moving in no matter how hard they try. Did the birds build the houses? No one knows.

Photo Warrior

@melissafristrom

Towering above the front-facing homes of the Masconian Empire is the famous photo warrior taking pictures of everyone who visits, people don't even realize they are being memorialized for all time. The photos line the houses behind the white facades. The citizenry is proud of the memories of all who came to visit. They find this practice keeps them from feeling lonely.

The Tree Houses of Rayline Jungle

@melissafristrom

Everyone lives off the terra firma in Rayline Jungle. The treehouses form an intricate labyrinth of connection through the jungle. No one ever needs to touch the ground. Water is caught in cisterns, food is plucked from the trees, and when they absolutely need something from below they have baskets they lower.

Crown Dominion

@melissafristrom

There is a small town on the coast of the Gia Coast where everyone is royalty. Not because they were born into the life, but because they chose the life. The houses are beautiful and the tea parties extensive. They ride horse-driven carriges and talk to the birds. Though it is hard to locate, it is worth the effort.

Spiral of Iranca

@melissafristrom

Known as the home of Obsidian Fowl, the Spiral of Iranca towers high over Iranca Plateau. Many come to climb, investigate, and feed the birds. Only one person lives in this monolith. She came when she was 21 and has stayed for over half a century. Now she searches for the next keeper of the Spiral. She says she will know when that person comes and she will rest then. For now, she makes sure everything is perfect for the birds—and sometimes the people.

Log Cabins

@melissafristrom

Log cabins are trendsetting in Trinan Village, Inalas. Everyone wants to have one. Luckily the wood is plentiful and the designs are beautiful. Kids now build their future homes from very small logs and adults from very big logs. Friends build them with front doors facing each other so that they can easily see their neighbors.

Fortress Settlement

@melissafristrom

Old houses in Dolinia, Western Isles, are easily noted by their barricaded doors. While fear of Dracoli is the stated reason for this metal deterrent, the real reason was fear of the unknown. They did not know who or what might come into their borough and they wanted to be safe. As more travelers came through their hamlet they learned to trust and embrace the outside world and lost the need for locks and keys.

Barbican of Safety

@melissafristrom

There is an imposing Barbican in the Brittle Lands of the Cratic Desert surrounding the village of Orantandy. No one is sure what prompted the erection of this masterpiece. The stories speak of protection from marauders, privateers, sea rats, and fugitives. Whatever the reason it was built, it keeps the occupants safe from all but the weather.

On the Cordican shore, houses are constructed from items that have washed up. This creative reuse of materials makes for stunning dwellings. Shukpa, one of the most prolific architects in the area, has just unveiled her newest design. It features sloped roofs and pottery to collect rain runoff, cement porticos for ventilation, dock posts for boats, and a floating light for fun. Whimsical and purposeful are the hallmarks of her work.

Donun Village

@melissafristrom

In the region of Overgrowth, is the artistic Donun Village. The houses and decorations are all handmade with brightly colored materials. Each establishment is unique and distinctive reflecting the artist and their craft. It is still a quiet village not known to many outsiders, for if it were popular, it would be overrun with looky-loos.

Folio Village

@melissafristrom

Folio Village is located in Pintecho City on the Pintecho Peninsula. Anyone who loves printed matter, libraries, and book stores has likely heard of this magical place. The stores all sell used and new books, there are libraries dedicated to esoteric subjects and all the art is from upcycled books. Reading is the only acceptable pastime. And even the houses are designed like books on a shelf.

Marquee of Dimensionality

@melissafristrom

High in the Revitsar Mountains in Swelkar Valley the Marquee of Dimensionality houses the largest mystical training center. People come from every corner of Jinivar to audition for the small number of highly sought after places in each year's class.
